Back at it

HELLLOOOO friends. I know it has been quite some time since I published a blog post, (almost a year actually). So let me catch you up to speed on what all has been going on in our crazy little life.

So last October just after my last blog post, we bought our first home! Getting out of our tiny 2 bedroom apartment was such a breath of fresh air. This home has created so many memories in just a short year and I am so thankful. We were finally able to store all our clothes! (Mostly Kyler’s), have a kitchen table where we have spent so many dinners getting to watch Karsynn learn and grow while eating, its been so fun. Our pups finally have a yard to play in, Karsynn has all the space to play, and I finally have walls to decorate however I please which is the best part. The holidays last year were so special getting to celebrate them together in our new home, and made me so excited for all the years to come.

After the Holidays winded down and life got back to normal things were good. I was still working on school and working, and then the dreadful Coronavirus hit, and that really put a damper on things. At first like I am sure many of you, we weren’t really sure what was truly in store, and what to expect. Lubbock county hadn’t had any positive cases for quite a while and then when the city announced our first positive case it seems like the whole world went to chaos. I was so nervous that my jobs were going to be closed down and I kinda panicked. After a few weeks of not knowing, trying to stay healthy and safe, our city close down all restaurants and gyms, and just like that I was out of both of my jobs. Shortly there after Texas Tech decided to transfer all classes online, it was a strange transition for so many people and had many challenges. Not too much time later our city went on a complete lock down, Karsynn and I were stuck at home all day everyday. Kyler was still working and we were having to take crazy precautions to Ensure that all 3 of us were safe.

Karsynn’s birthday is April 5th and for so many months I planned and was so excited to celebrate our little nuggets 1st birthday! As her party was approaching I just knew that we were going to have to reschedule, which absolutely broke my heart. I kept faith that we were going to be able to have it, but in just the few days prior we decided to cancel and hold off for a little while. I know that Karsynn will never have any idea or even slightly remember her first birthday but as a mom you want to give your babies the absolute world, and since we weren’t able to I was devastated. We finally were able to Celebrate her birthday about halfway through May, it was so much fun to shower this precious girl in so much love, laughter, and fun.

Our “summer” was so much fun, we spent the first week of June down in Houston visiting my family and their new home! Spent so many hours in the pool, playing card games, going for walks, and just enjoying each other’s company. Towards the middle of July Kyler got a position working for a summer camp as their on staff EMT for the week. Karsynn and I were able to tag along and got to spend the week playing and enjoying the outdoors. After the end of the week my mom came and picked Karsynn and I up and we spent the following week in Houston with my family. Karsynn loved the pool so much more this time around and we had a BLAST.

So now here we are, the middle of fall, enjoying the cooler-ish weather and preparing for the next Holiday season. I can’t wait to share more with you guys and create a relatable place for so many.

Lots of love

Morgan
